Family Reunion

Went to my annual family reunion yesterday. It was good to see most of the family. The only reason we didn't see the rest was due to scheduling conflicts. As usual we got on famously. A couple of sad notes though, one of my cousins lost her daughter and her husband of fifty some years within six months of each other. One of her sisters who is younger is starting to suffer from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. The younger sister's husband is well into Alzheimer's himself. So the discussion amongst the rest of us was when not if, they will have to move into a nursing facility. I suspect this will be hard on them as they are farmers and by nature self-reliant. So think good thoughts and light candle if you are so inclined.
